Topic: 2026 Girl Scouts Gold Award Winner
Cecilia "Cece" Burdick is a junior at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek and a Pompano Beach resident who earned Girl Scouting's highest honor, the Gold Award, as part of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida's Class of 2026 — a distinction reached by only about 5% of eligible Scouts nationwide.
For her Gold Award project, "Kits for Kids," Cece partnered with Kids in Distress in Wilton Manors to create individualized, age-appropriate craft kits for children in foster care, giving them creative outlets to help reduce stress and build emotional resilience. To make the effort sustainable, she also founded a Craft Club at her school.
Having been adopted as a toddler herself, Cece brought a personal connection to the project's mission of supporting children who've faced emotional and family instability.
Her hobbies are working out, drawing, reaching and watching movies.
